BIS//CUIT is a new contemporary tableware and homeware design brand established in 2010 by Portuguese ceramic designer Carla Santiago.
Our unique objects are inspired by the fields of fashion, graphic design, visual and decorative arts, gastronomy – even music culture. Combining these diverse influences, Estudio BIS//CUIT produces timeless and functional pieces for modern homes. We embrace a discerning passion for creative living, and aim to inspire everyday life with our passionate creations.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Carla Santiago is an award-winning industrial designer and ceramics specialist. Her expertise is built into her heritage from when she first learned her trade at her father’s tile and ceramics factory in the heart of Portugal. She is the founder and chief designer of Estudio BIS//CUIT.
Santiago graduated from Istituto Europeu di Design in Madrid, had professional training at specialist industry centres CENCAL and CEARTE where she gained deeper knowledge of industrial crafts and ceramics processes – particularly in shaping, molding and decorating.
Previous experience includes assisting Marre Moerel at his Madrid studio, producing moulds for some of the Dutch designers best known pieces. Carla Santiago is also the first prize winner of the Kickoff Novos Designers- Continente competition-2008 with the tableware set DONDO, her first marketed product produced and distributed by Sonae Distribuição. Subsequently, she worked as a designer for this company developing products and creating prints for home textiles.
Carla Santiago launched her own brand, BIS // CUIT in 2010. Future collections will combine the handmade and industrial to create beautiful and unique ceramic pieces for inspiring and creative homes.
